The lyrics of Jim Croce’s song capture a reality of life. There are
things you simply don’t do. After 20 years of carting around excess pounds,
shame and self contempt I’d say “You can’t lose the weight
and get back into shape alone”. A friend challenged me, as many have before,
to do something about my weight, energy level and fitness. The difference was
that he suggested I needed the help of a good personal trainer… specifically
PJ .
With my youngest daughter’s wedding only months away and in a moment
of “weakness” I immediately called Fitness Together and set up an
evaluation. After years of poor fitness choices I don’t think it’s
ever easy taking a long-needed-responsible-healthy choice… and after the
initial self-absorbed embarrassment and the “I’m such a smuck” feeling
of showing up in my short tight gym shorts I was quickly assured that my hopes/goals
were actually achievable… and they’d help me get there. That was
5 months ago. Since then I have lost 25 pounds and over 10 inches.
I could never have dropped the weight and gotten in the shape I’m in if it were not for
the personal attention I received both through the one on one exercise training
and nutritional guidance. You can’t do it alone, you can get it done with
Fitness Together.

Before I started Fitness Together, exercise was something I
didn't much care for and had little confidence in doing it very well. My greatest
hurdle was low energy.
I was drawn to FT because it was so basic and I was paying
for help I desperately needed and not a fancy swimming pool and all the amenities
that I wouldn't use all that much at a regular gymn. I was filled with anxiety
at first for fear that I couldn't do what was expected and thought if only I
can get through these eight weeks.
My initial goals were to lower my bodyfat
to the 20-25% range, do a fifteen-minute mile and improve overall health. After
16 weeks, I am doing a 15-minute mile with ease and am getting close to my bodyfat
goal also. My trainer made nutrition suggestions which eliminated the low energy
problem, and my abilities improved dramatically. I've lost weight, but the most
dramatic change is loss of inches in places I want!
The thing I like best about
FT is the personal touch. I've gotten to know all of the trainers and many of
the clients and enjoy the atmosphere.I have never had a bad workout - the clients
are the trainers highest priority.
I would recommend this facility for anyone
at any weight, age or issue because the trainers focus solely on the needs of
each individual. I am in awe of their knowledge base and professionalism.

Prior to joining Fitness Together, I was really out of shape. You know the saying, Im not fat, Im fluffy. Well, I was fluffy. I tried eating right and exercising, but I was losing ground and fast.
My sister-in-law told me about Fitness Together. She had been a member in
Philadelphia for 3 years and felt it really improved her tennis game and overall
strength. So now I have been with FT for over one year.
I have dropped a pants
size and I can do pushups a big first for me. My body composition has improved replacing fluffy fat with strong muscle! I really appreciate the planning that the FT trainers do they build us up step by step. They know to what level I could be pushed too harder would become a discouragement, and easier would not be helpful to achieve my overall goals.
I look forward to my workouts, even if I complain! The workouts are hard,
but when I feel that I could do them, its tremendous. What I tell my friends is that working out is hard and takes time. So why not do it with a trainer and maximize your time and effort investment. I know when I work out at FT, I am doing it right!

For the past 17 years I have been struggling with my weight. Children and
extremely busy schedule and lack of motivation have always kept me from exercising.
My eating habits have not always been the best. I ate what I wanted and never
thought about what I was eating. FT has helped me think more about my food choices
and make better ones. Having a log really does make you think twice about what
you put in your mouth!
Last year I was diagnosed with extreme sleep apnea. This was life threatening
and a wake up call! The fatigue resulting from the sleep apnea was in part why
I could not lose weight. I just was too tired to do anything other than take
care of my family. I made the decision that I must lose weight to improve my
sleep and my health.
I really did not have the knowledge to get myself back in shape. I had been
walking at least 3 times a week, but walking was just not enough. What I really
needed was someone to be accountable to beside myself. FT has definitely made
me accountable!
I had been interested in FT for a while and finally went in for a training
session. I was impressed with FT and the trainers from the beginning and I was
never skeptical. What I liked most about FT was the one on one training. The
motivation that I get from my trainer is outstanding! I want to go work out and
I enjoy my workouts. I especially like how I feel when I am done!
I have been at FT for 7 weeks and have lost 12 pounds so far. My clothes are
too big and I need to go shopping! I feel more energetic and my sleep has improved.
I am stronger and getting stronger every week. For example I recently bought
some cabinets and countertops and when I got them home no one was available to
unload them. So instead of waiting for someone, I unloaded the cabinets and granite
countertop myself. I wouldn’t have done that before I joined FT. I am very
proud of that. It shows just how much stronger I am!
What I like best about FT is how friendly and happy everyone is, I feel that
the trainers really do care about my goals and about me. The workouts are hard,
but that is the only way to get results and I am ecstatic about my results so
far. It really has not been that long since I started my training, but the results
are impressive. That in itself is very motivating!
If a friend weren’t sure whether they should join FT, I would say that
it is the best thing I have ever done for myself. If they want to be healthier,
stronger and lose weight FT is the place to go!

I first heard about Fitness Together a few years ago when I was living in
Arizona. I had a friend that had joined and I was really impressed with how great
she looked. I went with her to a free session and decided I would find one and
join as soon as I moved to Colorado. Well, it actually took me 2 ½ years
to get started. It’s a scary thing to commit yourself to, not only working
out, but to also have someone pushing you past any limits you may have set for
yourself. This January I decided it was time to get motivated and do something
about the weight I had gained.
I was really nervous coming into Fitness Together for the first time. I knew
I was out of shape and overweight but they put me at ease right away. I didn’t
feel like I was being judged at all. I could tell that they were truly there
to help me achieve my goals.
Two months later at my fitness assessment I had lost 16 pounds, 19.5 inches,
and 5% body fat. I felt great!
I don’t think you will find a better quality of trainers anywhere else.
I feel very lucky to have found Fitness Together and am well on my way to my
healthier, new body.

I am the proud mother of a beautiful baby girl! I really enjoyed my pregnancy
and gained a little more weight than I had planned! When my daughter was about
6 months old I had to face the fact that I could no longer use “baby weight” as
an excuse for the remaining extra pounds. I really did not want to let myself
go because I had become a mother! However, despite all my good intentions the
lack of sleep, all the work that comes with a new born and returning to my full
time job on top of it all made finding the time and energy to work out challenging!
I realized I needed to try a different approach and that is when I made the decision
to try Fitness Together.
In addition to losing the extra weight, I wanted to get out of my slump and
regain my strength and energy so that I could get back into a fitness routine.
The Fitness Together concept was perfect for me. I was able to set my sessions
up over my lunch hour so it was very convenient and since the training sessions
were one on one and in a private setting, I didn’t have to feel self conscious
like I did when I tried to work out at a regular gym. It was clear to me from
the beginning that everyone at Fitness Together lives and breathes fitness and
a healthy lifestyle and they genuinely care about helping their clients meet
their goals.
I worked with Josh and he is an excellent trainer! He customized my workouts
to fit my needs and most importantly he was careful to take into account that
I had recently given birth. He made my workouts challenging but fun and I quickly
started looking forward to my sessions. It was time just for me!
It wasn’t long before I was getting into the hang of things and could
start to see the results of my hard work. Not only was I losing weight and inches
but I was feeling stronger and more flexible than I had in a really long time!
I remember how weak my abdominal muscles were in the beginning and that I had
trouble with some of the most basic exercises but I worked hard and really built
them back up and actually made if fun for Josh to come up with more challenging
exercises for me to do! It was so motivating to see my muscles starting to show
and to feel myself getting stronger. Josh helped me realize that I was capable
of some pretty difficult exercises and lifting weight that I would have never
pushed myself to try on my own. By the end of my sessions I had lost weight and
inches and significantly lowered my body fat %. I am absolutely stronger and
more flexible but most importantly I am feeling better than ever and have the
energy and motivation to work out and stay healthy!
I would absolutely recommend Fitness Together to anyone looking to get healthier
and happier! In particular those new moms who think they will never have the
time or energy to get back on track! Not only can you get your pre-baby body
back (or an even better one!) but you’ll have more energy and strength
to better tackle motherhood. It’s a tough job and you deserve a little
time for yourself!

I was tired of feeling and looking small but lacked the motivation and nutritional
knowledge to change. I have been training at FT for 11 weeks and have gained
ten pounds of lean muscle mass, greatly increased my strength, and gained much
needed size especially in my lower body. I don’t have chicken legs anymore!
I like the personal one on one attention, motivation, and encouragement on
my diet and nutritional intake and the quality of the service and the workouts
I received at FT was top notch. I always left knowing I put in 110% and that
I really achieved some great results.
I would say to anyone who was “on the fence” about hiring a trainer
at FT that this would be one decision I could guarantee they would not regret.
It’s so worth the money, time, and effort to feel good and look great!

I needed FT because I lacked the motivation and commitment to stop being overweight.
I was drawn by the one trainer per person and at first I never, never thought
I’d stick with it but I have been here for a year.
In that time I have lost 30 pounds. I am stronger, my life is better, and
I am happier.
I like the one on one training. Your trainer has goals for you too and you
feel like you have someone making you accountable for your health.
The service is excellent. My trainer has never missed an appointment and is
always available and makes me work really hard. (and I whine a lot)
Working out at Fitness Together has changed my life and I’ve never been
able to commit to any other program. I’m sure the program is cheaper than
the cost of having diabetes or heart disease.

I was overweight and have never been able to break through and get to my goal
weight or maintain any of the progress I made along the way due to poor nutritional
habits, lack of planning time and failure to track consistently.
I was first drawn to FT by my friend Elissa, she was working out there and
getting benefits from it and encouraged me to join. I wasn't skeptical at all,
the first time I met with PJ I knew that this was going to make a difference
for me. It was a huge investment in me.
So far, I've lost 50 lbs and over 35 inches, four clothes sizes and my body fat % is finally below 30%!
Everything at FT is amazing. You get the time and attention you need, the workouts are completely tailored. The goals that are set are meaningful and achievable; the people side is totally on target.
If my best friend was on the fence, I would tell them it was totally worth the investment they were making in themselves, plus, my best friend sees the progress I've made, so I'm like living proof that it's worth it!
